A matter of some gravity
My brother-in-law has seen his early career in skateboard journalism bloom into his part in a fully-fledged multimedia squad, making huge movies, performing on radio shows, and taking over MTV for days at a time.
Skating took a back seat to the other stuff, but he’s still something of an authority on skateboards and skate culture, and its evolution, particularly in LA. He’s actually pretty eloquent and insightful when you get him to open up on it. However, my plans to buy a longboard (which never came to fruition) were met with derision and ridicule.
Longboards are, apparently, not cool.
