Honestly, if you’re considering joining the intelligence services, and the place you look first is the Guardian Jobs site, perhaps you’ve already failed the entrance exam.

Do pay attention, 007.

I always thought the intelligence services adverts (not only Mi5, and not only for the UK) in the Economist were well placed.

I can see where you’re coming from — even if you are only joking — about the placement on Guardian Jobs, but I’m guessing Mi5 are reaching out to a different section of the market than they would normally would.

Maybe since Jason Bourne was pictured reading the Guardian in the Bourne Supremacy all the spies are reading it now? Although it is somewhat more likely they want to target the Guardian’s educated readership.

I haven’t seen any of the Bourne films, so that’s news to me, if you’ll excuse the pun. I see where you’re coming from, though.

The Guardian features quite heavily in the last film, including a shot in their offices with a lookalike of their real editor. A section of the film centres around a story a fictional Guardian journalists is working on.
