In Dod We Trust

Shabby-chic funnyman with very mild superpowers David O’Doherty (found via Blogorrah) doing his thang at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. The DOD, as the man is known, featured as our Craic Cover one issue back, and we dispatched Gavin McGuinness to review his show in Melbourne last week. He came back raving about it. This vid of the text-message-sent-to-the-wrong-person song is part of the reason why.
At the other end of the mobile phone-rant spectrum, the ever-impenetrable John Waters shouts down at the plebs from his ivory tower with this rambling diatribe:
“Texting is either, as the postmodernists so rudely insist, just another cultural shift in which things dropping off one end of the trailer are supplanted at the other, or a defining moment when mankind’s cleverality starts to eat its own foundations. I tend towards the latter view, believing that all technology usurps human capacity in exchange for convenience.”
Gosh, he’s so intelligent. If you must read more, do so here (subs req.)
Otherwise, enjoy more DOD vids:
